The word emotion comes from the Latin word "emotere" which means "energy in motion". The emotions which build on the energy, act as a filter through which we experience the happenings in our lives. Although it seems to us that feelings come by themselves, without our will, this is not true. The power to control our own emotions and behaviors lies within ourselves. We are masters of our emotions, not their servants. This is exactly what we saw and learned at the "Mental and Emotional Healing" course, which was held in February and March 2024.
There are five basic emotions that psychology calls primary and are necessary for survival.
Fear, anger, anger, shame and sadness.
These emotions are universal to the human race and biologically important for its survival because they trigger the release of cortisol (a stress hormone in the brain). They mostly function below the level of consciousness and cause complex behaviors. They are responsible for the resistance we feel towards potentially stressful situations. If we let them lead us, act uncontrollably, there is a high probability that they will create an image of the worst possible scenario, which will take us away from the goal. When we are in these emotions we feel as if they are leading us, we do not have the strength to resist and it is very difficult to maintain control or calmness of our reactions
In addition to these five emotions, we have two emotions for connection:
Love/trust, joy/excitement.
These emotions cause the release of oxytocin, serotonin, dopamine, hormones that activate the reward system in the brain and produce pleasant feelings, which we try to experience again and again. By activating this system, we develop healthy habits, but if they turn into addiction, they can bring us additional problems (for example, addiction to gambling, the Internet, etc.)
The key to letting go of negative emotions and the past is moderation.
Suppressing or denying any emotion leads to a natural imbalance of mental, emotional or physical health.
What does repressed feeling mean?
When a situation becomes too difficult and you cannot deal with it, you cannot solve it, we repress it deep inside and it remains as repressed energy which we call repressed emotion or trauma. For example: if someone close to us dies suddenly, unexpectedly, we need to grieve and cry. But if you can't cry for various reasons, it is possible to start feeling pain which can later develop symptoms of chronic fatigue, pollen allergy, headaches and so on. We usually don't connect quickly, but suppressed sadness can be the main reason for the imbalance in our body.
This kind of cause and effect connection is a basic rule for understanding human health and the self-healing process.
The six week course"Mental and emotional healing" which began on February 25 and lasted until March 31, 2024, gathered a group of forty participants who wanted to work on their personal growth and development, release their suppressed emotions, and activate self-healing processes in order to create a free and authentic relationship with yourself and the people around you.
The rituals and techniques we used in this course were intended for anyone who has experienced physical, spiritual, energetic or emotional loss. We worked on accepting suppressed emotions in order to improve self-care and relationships with loved ones and activate the self-healing process.
In fact, through this course, the participants experienced deep inner healing and freedom from everything that prevents them from living their lives fully and authentically.
I thank them endlessly for their participation, presence and personal engagement!
Love and light
