I walk the dog every morning. I go to the park on "my" path, pass the trees, meet familiar faces (mostly those like me, who walk dogs early in the morning). And every day like that, the same path, the same trees, the same birds. But even though I do this every day, do you think I am consciously noticing the things around me? Do we humans actually manage to see all those beautiful little things in our lives while we routinely and habitually live our lives?
We humans are creatures of habit. We like to repeat things. Unconscious repetition gives us a sense of security and belonging. But there is a pitfall that can be guessed in this wise message, quoted by many great teachers:
Watch your thoughts - Thought becomes speech
Watch your words - word becomes action
Watch your actions - actions become a habit
Pay attention to your habits - they become your character
Take care of your character - it becomes your destiny
When someone repeats the same pattern of behavior, it means that they have established a habit in their life. And if we live by habit, then how can we create change in our lives and awaken our potentials?
Eric Berne, the father of transactional analysis, says that of all living beings, man is the most submissive being. From the beginning of his birth, man does what he is told. For example, some animals can be trained to be submissive, while most other animals cannot be trained at all, but man, man is a different category! He has been tamed since the beginning of his life. He is programmed since his birth, through the various "points" he performs for mom, dad, for the teacher, for religion, for the politician, for the state. Fighting for the love of his parents, he had to learn how to adapt and adjust, to get for himself the love, value, acceptance, protection that he lacked. And, it's called early programming. Here, in that part created during our childhood, all our fears, doubts and energy blockages are hidden.
When you think about it, our entire destiny is based on our fears, which in turn guide our thoughts, actions, and habits. A Buddhist teacher was asked how he would define a man, he said: Lost in thought! And indeed, we humans are lost in thought most of the day. That is why it is necessary to become aware of our programs, our thoughts, habits and actions. Or to wake up! And when if not in Spring!
And here we come to the concept of mindfulness, which I worked on as a concept during the three-day challenge SPRING AWAKENING, which took place from April 7 to 9, 2023. Mindfulness means CONSCIOUS PRESENCE. Presence in one's life, in one's habits, in one's thoughts, in one's actions, a presence in which of the five states of mind we are stuck.
When we are consciously present, we create a comma, a pause, between thoughts and get a little space for ourselves within ourselves. We create space to make choices about the thoughts and actions we do.
At this wonderful online event, which was attended by more than 200 participants, we spent three days talking about how to make space within yourself in order to awaken your personal, mental, emotional and physical potential. We talked about the benefits of emotional release from negative emotions and practiced the tapping technique, we talked about the five stages of the mind that are an obstacle in the process of our inner awakening and we talked about conscious presence and love as an essential part of our life and a goal that we should all strive towards. let's focus.
Every day we had mindfulness meditation and on the last day we practiced yoga for better physical and mental health. Well, until the next challenge, practice Healthy Yoga and follow the new programs and courses that I will announce in the coming period.
Love and light
