Nutrition affects work productivity

Many people have an ingrained attitude that business people they are fed poorly. We constantly hear that they are not to blame for such a situation, but that the working day cannot be organized differently, except to the detriment of work. As if there is a belief that those who do not spend time eating during the working day are more valuable and useful. Even if you notice chocolate, yogurt or fruit on the desk, you unconsciously get the impression that the most important thing for that employee is to constantly snack and eat something.

But when the machine runs out of the necessary energy, it stops working. And so is the man. Most business people demand of themselves and force their organism to perfect and creative work, but they forget to eat healthy, balanced food; energy (sun, air) and relaxation (rest and socializing with pleasant people). Unfortunately, after a long and hard day's work, people who are completely devoted to their work are usually too tired to eat or they eat poorly and abundantly for hours and without measure.

On the lifespan of business people it does not only affect how much food they consume, but also what they eat - think British scientists, who prove that the quality, not the quantity, of the calories consumed affects the longevity of a person.

According to their research, it is confirmed that for  longevity much more important is to reduce the intake of proteins or fats, rather than sugars.

We can safely assume that most business people have bad eating habits and as a result chronic fatigue, immune system decline, digestive system problems, cardiovascular problems, blood pressure problems and what not.

Business people can help themselves and organize their diet in three ways:

  • with one meal that they will bring to the workplace,
  • with food in a nearby restaurant that cooks healthy food (Healthy Food)
  • with food prepared at home

The ideal would be to achieve a combination of the above three models with a mandatory breakfast before leaving for work.

Business people should avoid carbohydrates that affect concentration, cause drowsiness or stimulate the appetite. Such are white sugar, beer, white bread, cupcakes.

Preference should be given to products that provide quality energy without excessive oscillations of blood glucose. These include green vegetables, legumes, fresh fruit, soy, bread and baked goods from whole grains.

The secret of quality nutrition is in good planning.

For lunch you can eat:

  • pasta with tomato sauce
  • rice with mixed vegetables
  • potatoes and salads
  • skimmed milk dairy products with whole grain baked goods.
  • To this you can also add mushroom, egg and cheese dishes.

Drinking fluids throughout the day is just as important as eating. That's why drinking water, juices or tea is very important. Eating in a restaurant is usually associated with a glass of wine, which restores and relaxes. Wine is rich in minerals and antioxidants, so small amounts during lunch are welcome for the body. Of course, you should avoid strong drinks, as well as large amounts of beer or wine, fatty foods that take several hours to digest.

Investing in daily personal nutrition is an investment in better work results, better appearance and good mood.

Investing in increasing your energy levels can be further enhanced by regular light walks in the surrounding mountains.

The lifestyle of business people is directly related to their work results.
