Wellness & Yoga Camp

  • Sep 25, 2019
  • Com 0

The traditional September Wellness & Yoga Camp was realized by 15 to 22 September 2019 in Nikiti, Halkidiki. Nature, weather, beautiful beaches and warm sea were in our favor so we spent the days practicing yoga at sunrise and sunset, combined with meditations, breathing techniques and yoga nidra. In the evenings we socialized and had workshops to raise awareness of personal well-being (Wellness) as well as taking care of our own emotional, mental and physical health. All in all, a successful camp and wonderful people who participated in it.

Thank you all for the wonderful fellowship and experience!

In the following, I submit the report from the completed evaluation questionnaires.

Report of the evaluation of the participants, prepared by Prof. Dr. Nada Sekulovska Professor of Marketing Research in retirement from the Faculty of Economics Skopje

During the period of 15 to 22 September 2019, an active holiday full of rich content was held, attended by 20 participants, who were asked at the end of the seven-day camp to fill out an anonymous questionnaire regarding the program content, activities and impact on them, as well as to evaluate the instructor, of which 18 people responded to the questionnaires.

In the analysis of the questions, it will be noted that not all questions were answered by all participants, which is why there is no consistency in the number of responses and the total number of participants. Some participants did not attend the yoga exercises or other activities and therefore did not respond.

The program of this camp consisted of morning and evening yoga exercises, then breathing techniques to activate the vital energy within, team building activities, sports challenges to raise vital energy, and growth and development workshops to balance emotional and mental blockages.

The questionnaire consisted of multiple questions that contained multiple sub-questions.

The first question was general and related to gender, age, education, and duration of yoga practice.

Of these, 83% were female and only 17% were male.

Of the total number of seminar participants, 50% were aged 51-65, 44% were in the 35-50 age group, 3% were people aged 0-20 and 21-35, and 3% were over 65.

Regarding education level, 61% had a university degree, 28% had a higher education, master's/doctorate, and 11% had a lower education.

As for how long they have been practicing yoga, 5% reported practicing for 3-10 years, 11% practicing for 0-1 year, 39% practicing for 1-3 years, 11% practicing for over 10 years, and 34% encountering yoga for the first time.

The next question was to rate the organization of the entire seminar, with three possible answers given: poor, sufficient, and good. All 18 participants or 100% answered well. This question was followed by the rooms, food, exercise facilities, and social activities.

For each element it was possible to circle 1 (poor), 3 (sufficient) and 5 (good)

As can be seen the clarity of speech, comprehensibility of instructions, knowledge and expertise in working with people and interaction with the participants, were evaluated with high marks.

At the end, the opportunity was given to write an anonymous message to the instructor for the purpose of improvement, and most participants gave a positive opinion.
