Awareness, Spontaneity, and Intimacy: The Path to Autonomy According to Transactional Analysis
What is Transactional Analysis?
Transactional analysis, or popularly TA, is a theory of personality, a powerful psychiatric model and a model for communication. Created in the 1960s by Dr. Eric Bern, TA is based on the belief that every person has value, the capacity to think, and the power to change their life path.
Berne began as a psychoanalyst, but due to the limitations of the practice at the time, he developed his own approach, which soon became a separate therapeutic direction. Transactional analysis gained worldwide popularity with his book "What game are you playing?" – a work that is today a classic, and terms like "psychological game", "inner child", "life scenario" and "I'm OK, you're OK" They entered speech and communication as easily understandable to everyone.
TA is an optimistic, humanistic and very practical psychotherapy practice that is based on three basic principles:
-
Basically, all people are OK.
- All people have the capacity to think (except for people with severe brain damage)
- Everyone makes a decision about their own destiny (mainly from the third to the sixth year), but that decision can be changed
Transactional analysis is today recognized by the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) and is the basis for psychotherapy, counseling, education, and organizational development worldwide.
The Purpose of Transactional Analysis: A Path to Autonomy
At its core, TA helps us move toward autonomy – a state of personal freedom where our choices and actions are authentic, conscious, and in line with our true selves.
Berne describes autonomy through three key components:
-
Awareness
-
Spontaneity
-
Capacity for intimacy
Mindfulness: Being present here and now
Mindfulness is the ability to see reality as it is, free from the filters of our past. When we are mindful, we operate from our Adult ego state—we see the situation with open eyes and make choices based on the present, not old habits or fears.
In my work with clients, I often see how developing mindfulness brings real breakthroughs—relationships become clearer, reactions more appropriate, and life becomes easier.
Spontaneity: The freedom to be truly ourselves
Spontaneity is the life energy that is released when we are connected to ourselves. It is the feeling of joy and satisfaction we experience when we are authentic, when we express our own uniqueness without fear.
Working with individual sessions, meditations, and emotional healing, I see spontaneity reawakening in people—as a quiet joy that becomes a new driver of life.
Capacity for intimacy: Deep human connection
Intimacy, in the context of TA, is not just about romantic or sexual relationships. It is the ability to communicate openly, honestly without masks, games, or manipulation. Intimacy is that feeling of secure connection, where we are accepted and accepted unconditionally.
It is through the practices of family constellations and releasing old emotional attachments, I help clients strengthen their capacity for intimacy and authentic relationships.
Your journey to yourself begins now.
My dears, I believe that every person has an unbreakable spark within them that leads them to freedom, love, and fulfillment. If you feel it is time to awaken your awareness, unleash your spontaneity, and create deeper connections in your life — I am here for you with joy.
I work with individual and group sessions by appointment, family constellations, meditations for releasing (energetic) bonds according to the method of psychologist Phyllis Crystal, as well as emotional and mental healing of grief and repressed emotions. I have spent more than 500 working hours of education in transactional analysis in the country and abroad, as well as education in other psychological directions. And although I am not a graduate psychologist, I have theoretical and practical experience working with clients precisely in the area of transactional analysis.
Your life can be filled with awareness, authenticity, and deep connection. And that journey can begin today. Write to me and schedule an appointment.
Love and light,
