When someone says the word "karma"in the west, people usually think that this thing is related to bad actions. This word is often used when someone is going through a difficult time and people know to say "if you are suffering, if you have a problem, it is because of your karma". But karma is not only that! When we do good deeds, we create good karma, which also brings us good luck in life. But the problem here is that people expect to immediately "get" back, something for themselves. But in-universe, it doesn't work that way! It is very important to realize that you will be able to see the results of your actions, deeds and words in this life and/or in the next life, but (maybe) not in the way you want. You know, it doesn't matter if you believe in karma or not. She exists. For example, you can not believe in the law of gravity but he exists. So? Try taking a step out of a flying plane, what do you think will happen? The same applies to the law of karma. It is a universal law, it exists and it works. It is good to know also that he is progressing with the law of evolution. Well, so whatever happens to your karma, the law of evolution pushes you forward.
Whether we do it consciously or unconsciously is very important in building karma. In fact, we get karma from both conscious and unconscious actions
What we call it "karma" is result of our actions. Both good and bad. Both in this life and in a past life, consciously or unconsciously.
This is a very broad topic, so here I will briefly outline the three types of karma that my spiritual yoga teacher Mataji talks about:
- "The first type of karma is called "Sanchita Karma" . It is like a database that contains all our physical actions, conscious and unconscious, but also our thoughts. Every thought has its own reaction, its own result. When we leave this world, certain parts of this result go with us, and in the next life some of them follow us.
- The second type of karma is called"Prarabdha Karma" it corresponds to some karmas we did in our past lives that we did not consciously work on. Therefore we must return to them to purify ourselves.
- And the third type of karma, is the one you do in your daily life and is called "Kriyamana Karma". Every action or everyday thought has its own reaction. If you think well of someone, of yourself, of life, naturally this creates positive vibrations and also generates good karma. Therefore, since childhood, it is very important eand be aware of what we are saying. For example: Babies and small children are not bothered by anything because their ego is still almost non-existent, they are not aware of "me". So nothing hurts them. The more self-aware they become; I am the son of…, I am the daughter of…, I am bigger, I am smaller, I am beautiful, I am ugly…” the more this "I" develops. As a result, if something is different or inconsistent with the image you created, you are hurt. And you react. Until then, you did not react, you accepted the thing as it was, and used it to the maximum. So when you pinch the baby's cheek, it smiles. But when he grows up, if you pinch him, he or she reacts, thinking that you want to hurt him. This simple example may help you understand the meaning of Kriyamana Karma.”
Good karma is the result of conscious action.
To do it consciously, you need to know yours dharma, or your duty. When you become aware of this, you cannot make mistakes. For example, if you are a mother and you know your duty as a mother, you spontaneously, automatically, develop the spiritual qualities of a mother: patience, tolerance, love, devotion. If you think that you have to control your child, you have to punish him or not listen to him because you are the one who knows more, then naturally, you cannot develop the good nature of a mother, and what you do thinking that this is your dharma nature is wrong.
The notion dharmais part of Hindu philosophical and cultural education. It is based on the awareness of your existence and your role. Dharma does two things- directionally. For example, it is not only the mother who has to follow her dharma; the child must also follow his dharma.
Your first dharma as a human being, when you come into this body, is to reunite with God, of which we are all a part. This is what we call Yoga. All practices; asana, pranayama, bandhi, mudra, fasts, etc. are destined to develop individual consciousness to reunite with the Supreme or God. In India, people consider themselves "part of God", that is, they develop that consciousness. Only by developing purity of consciousness can you become one with the Supreme.
To yes following your dharma aright, edyou still need to develop your awareness, and starting with small things. For example, you hold a glass of water and put it somewhere in the room you are in, but you are not aware of where you put it. Through such small things you develop awareness. It is not developed just by sitting in a meditation position, doing pranayama or some other practice. At first, it is easier to become aware of the actions. Then, as you develop awareness of your actions, you gradually become aware of your words: what you say, when you say it, in what way, and why? In this way, you come closer to your words coming from your mind, your thoughts and emotions and reconnect with your actions, your behavior, your thoughts and your emotions. In this way you are consciously present or practicing mindfulness (a term that is often used today for the previously described procedure of increasing awareness). And all this happens quite spontaneously. You form a habit without any intervention of the mind and it prepares you to follow your dharma.
And to clear your conscience, the best way is to do karma yoga. It's good to want to help other people. But if you really want to help them, you must first forget that you are helping them. If you remain attached to your "I, I," you are only deceiving yourself by using other people. And like many, you will be filled with frustrations just because you will tell yourself that no one shows you any recognition for all that you do, for other people. If you separate yourself from this "I", you will no longer have to wonder who and how you could help. Help will flow through you. Well, it can even be a simple smile, a simple word or a light touch on someone's shoulder so that they don't feel alone in life.
Therefore, the dharma it means being honest with yourself. This It also humbles you when you become honest and clean, you are the instrument. And that's all what you have to do in this life to build good karma.
Love and light to all.
